Weekend read:

Whether you like to hate her or hate the fact you like her, Alexa Chung has become a fashion icon for many young women and girls. When I first found out about her, I really liked her style but then I eventually got bored of it (maybe because it was everywhere). She does pull off the odd one or two amazing looks every now-and-then, like the above look for Net-a-porter's spring/summer magazine: which you can purchase here, but I am less fascinated by her (but I may purchase the magazine).

P.s: her beautiful lace dress is from Erdem's spring/summer collection which was available on Net-a-porter here.

Alexa Chung talks about style.

I'm slightly surprised it took this long for somebody to ask Alexa Chung to design her own clothing and shoe range (I think). Apparently, it is going to be sold at affordable prices; her collection is very much her style, as for the looks they are not amazing but perfect for that casual, mundane, typical British spring day in which socks with heels could easily become something more beneficial than looking in-vogue.

I'm seriously on the hunt for a high-waisted black or brown leather belt; it's all I can think about.

E Pluribus Unum

Blog title: E Pluribus Unum is latin for, one from many. I want to learn as many latin phrases as is possible over the holiday; I know it's sad but I've always been intrigued by Latin, even more so now that it's appearing in most my law books, and the lectures speak it so perfectly that I'm left in awe.

I saw these images in The Guardian and instantly thought of Alexa Chung, I wonder why? They literally replicated Alexa Chung's look and I have to say almost to perfection. I like the balance of casualness and how revealing the look is; simply by wearing a figure hugging dress and a big knitted jumper that reveals the collar bones. Haven't you heard, collar bones are the new it thing for both men and women this season? Haha. I'll never endorse being thin, you should be happy with who you are and stand strong to your principles! On another note, The Guardian have also used neutral colours in the looks, which is something Alexa also seems to favour.  The second image next to Alexa Chung is Marianne Faithful, I like that image of her.

Alexa Chung has resigned from working at MTV due to her "grueling schedule," anyone else bothered? Neither am I, though I do want her bag.

Casual Prep.

If you've never heard of the word preparatory, you may be surprised to know it is the long form word for preppie, you learn something everyday. Alexa is known for her preppie English school boy look, which she does manage to pull off perfectly. I really like her bag and almost flat shoes. I'm just wondering where I could get a bag like that without the Mulberry price tag. Hmm...

Countryside

Remember this Alexa Chung look; how magazines and papers were now calling it the Queens style, which apparently was suppose to be 'in' after these images were sent to the press? Well, it's my favourite Alexa Chung look. It was a very different look for her at the time, it seemed more formal and 'grown up' than most her other patterned, bright looks; which doesn't bother me.

A Danity Doll

Alexa Chung for Maria Claire, not as great as Ashley Olsen but still insipirational in her own style. I love the casualness and her jewellery; I really want to get a Chanel style jacket.

美丽的人

I'm really surprised that I haven't liked anything Alexa has worn on her MTV show, I think it's because her trade mark style has become over worn and seen. Anyone know what she talks about on her show? Hahaha, I'm being serious all I hear about is what she wears. Sienna Miller, first image, in a floral dress, yes I'm in with the florals now. It's sickening how cool some people especially when their younger than you, second image, Stylish Wanderer.

Alexa Chung

I don't know why I'm infatuated with her style and image, but I think it's her whole persona and her character that brings out the clothes she wears, making her seem comfortable and happy with who she is regardless of her insecurities, that many of us are still shocked she has, considering every magazine is hailing her as a British modern icon for women. I have to admit I do spend half my time slating her for her apparent love of the camera, and the way in which she appears to have the media wrapped around her little finger; yet I don't know if that's just me wanting to find something to not like her for.

Watch/me//n

Alexa Chung wearing a Barbara Hulanicki dress in NY. I like the first image a lot, how she stands out from the background yet seems oblivious to the camera, and the dress does suit her; is it me or does that dress appear to be very short? I kind of feel at edge when I see the first image, because every girls' nightmare is to have her dress blown up...well, except M.Manroe! It does kind of explain why Chung's arms are always at close length to the hem of the garment.

Intense Relaxtion

Did anyone else get inspired by the above image of Alexa Chung for Harpers Bazaar. The model does look better than Chung but I like how it looks more 'do able' on Chung as she seems to be fidgeting with the garments, making it seem natural.
