MEN

Lacoste's autumn/winter collection: not only are the models admirable so are the clothes!

I think women can and should steal ideas from menswear collections by adding a feminine twist. If not for that reason, then you could guide a man in your life, who has money to burn and is unacquainted to style, to a shop of your choice such as Lacoste - what could go wrong? :)

There was no denying it: the man was en vogue.

I really like this collection by Wooyoungmi. The orange trousers with the blue jumper is a great look! It's not the first collection that has made me want orange trousers.

The woman in the black and white picture is Jean Shrimpton.

He hasn't got a clue what he's doing to me.

Fashionable men can look like high maintenance depending on your preference on the degrees of fashionable a man can go. My preference is deemed as picky but I just don't like guys who wear nothing but Topman clothes; I don't like most male hipsters; I don't like skinny jeans on guys; I don't like guys who look like they've copied a celebrity (I see a lot of JLS lookalikes); I don't like guys who wear nothing but Jack Wills clothes...I could go on but I sound shallow! :) But, I like difference, originality; someone who will mix things up and not look like he's trying to impress anyone but himself: is that too much to ask for? Basically, most the men I find fashionably attractive tend to be a few years older than me and sometimes a lot older. I like Olivia Palmero's boyfriend's style and Brad Pitt's current style...

All is as thinking makes it so.

I really like the knee-high boots by Wood Wood and I like all the above looks (four images in colour) from their A/W 2012/13 collection.

I also really like the above images of the four men for Port Magazine's A/W 2012/13 issue: they look like writers or poets.

His moment.

Some men don't even need to try.

The open road.

This post is for those who feel I've neglected them in their hour of blogging need. :)

Four French men on custom-made motorcycles they made (online shop) on the open road (and they do tricks!). Am I mad? No, but madly in love! I will learn how to ride one, one day!! The amazing song is by The Felice Brother's and I think it's called Frankie.

Is anyone else trying to avoid the whole Prince William and Kate Middleton formal circus like wedding affair??!! I have nothing against the couple, this annoyance is more vented towards the media...Note to self: do not read The Times leading up to the 29th -the most ridiculously obsessed newspaper.

Edit: I apologise for the excessive use of the exclamation mark.

This was his moment.

Fashion's gift to man: macro-subtlety yet micro-detail.

I like what the above men are doing with their style; it's masculine yet fashionable. When we (women) have to judge whether a runway look will look as good as it does on a 5ft 10in., size zero model; men have to judge whether they can reinterpret a runway look to look less camp. Ultimately, both men and women have to guess whether a runway look is practical for their everyday, mundane life.

I like the the burgundy gloves, the textures (leather and wool!) and they all look comfortable and warm (I love practical fashionable people). I'm going to rush to my wardrobe now, and see how an oversized cardigan over a blazer looks!

Have a great weekend!!

I would speak up but I wouldn't know what to say.

I love the styling/looks; I did a post ages ago on the revival of the maxiskirt this fall/winter, HERE.

The amazing editorial for the menswear is from the a/w issue of Man About Town.

Sometimes men who are clearly into fashion can irritate me (don't worry I'm easily irritated) particularly when they crave attention for it, but I think that also relates to women too. Somewhere indescribable, there is a middle ground which you can just tell where that lies when you observe the fashion style of other people. The beauty of style is that, that boundary is always being pushed when you see somebody trying something new yet not looking like other people...anyway that's my scrabbled view of the week. :)

Woman: What do you do out of love?

Man: I ache for who we were.

I don't trust a man who doesn't drink.

The minute I saw the above image from New Wave men's Editorial, I liked the entire look and it was mainly because of the model's t-shirt which made me want to find out where it was from and whether there were any more of it's kind.

I ended up finding out that there were loads designed by different creative artists for men and women. The above t-shirts are the ones I was instantly drawn to; the t-shirt design by Bronques is in the 10.55 spring summer collection for women and is taken from their archive of last night party pictures on their Cobrasnake style website. The design by Deadlastnight and Gavin Watson feature in 10.55's fall winter 10 collection.

Milan men's fashion week is exciting and inspiring, a great blog covering the fashion week from a guys perspective is White Blank Page.

The amazing trench coat (which wouldn't be so without the belt) on the right is from Zara women's wear.

Simple summer chic, you can't go wrong.

I bought the above blouse from my sister who bought it from H&M; I particularly like how the back of the blouse is longer than the front and that it has a pocket.

The above guy is a model at Milan fashion week and his blouse is vintage, but I like how he has worn a band t-shirt underneath it. I wore the blouse straight away after I bought it from my sister; I wore it with my Uniqlo waistcoat over it and leggings because the blouse is long.

Fantastic Man via
real life is elsewhere

I was once told:

A gentleman will always try to remain modest regardless of the climate whereas a dandy will always try to remain in-vogue regardless of the climate.

I can never remember which one you are, but for what it's worth, you photograph rather well doing something that equates to nothing.

Mon amour, tu es à moi.

Translation: My love, you are mine.

Sorry for the double post but I have to post this overdue amazing post:

As you may be aware menswear equally influences my style as does womenswear (obviously)

I love the colours in Massey's a/w collection and the looks; the bottom row of images are my favourite. The image to the very right with the jumpsuit, I would wear with heels and I would roll the sleeves up or wear a big woolly jumper or jacket over it to create a layered effect -the possibilities are endless.

View entire collection here.

I Love, love the above looks; quite Parisian and summer.

When can we get together again? Never mind, I've lost you.

Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen designed menswear for The Row.

My verdict: pure brilliance in a bowl of simplicity.

Be a simple kind of man.
