Stripes.

What's there not to like about this post?!
+
To not make this post pointless I'm now going to introduce you to two brilliant songs: Ben Howard - Empty Corridors and Bon Iver - I Can't Make You Love Me (Blogspot is being annoying so I can't provide the links).

Demure.

+
It's exciting yet surprising how soon Christmas is!
+
The above collage is a mixture of old and new casual smart looks that I like.

Have a great weekend!

"To get back my youth I would do anything in the world, except take exercise, get up early or be respectable." -Oscar Wilde, A Picture of Dorian Gray.

How about a great weekend freebie courtesy of the band Generationals.

Ralph Lauren

+
If I was to see somebody dressed like the people in the above Ralph Lauren clip, I would: a) despise their impeccable attire; b) despise their confidence to dress in a flamboyant outdated manner; and c) despise myself for despising them. :)
+
Honestly, I personally love to see people dressed well but for me originality is what makes or breaks a look. I've seen street style looks of people who amazingly look like they've stepped out from another era but at the same time they wouldn't look effortless as they may have looked within that particular time; or they border on appearing contrived.

It's cold!

The recent drop in temperature is not going down well with me...

...on a more lighter and funnier note, I was reading the New York Times (like every British person does) and there was an article about a new craze in which people (mainly girls) take secret photos of hot people (mainly men) on the tube/subway and post the images online for people to rate! Aside from the fact it's a blatant invasion of privacy and that the whole thing is actually quite crude: the concept is hilarious -Tubecrush and Subwaycrush.

Great documentary!

Onto the next one.

Ah! Zara is messing with my mind.

By the way, the top image on the left is from an editorial.

How to...

A how-to-pictorial-guide on looking fashionably chic on a cold evening.

Michelle Obama

I would argue that beauty comes from a love of life.
+
++
I would also argue that beauty comes from being everything you can be without being somebody else: "One tree by itself never calls for admiration when the whole forest rises to the same height." -Seneca, Letters to a Stoic.

Her life was hard.

Every girl's fashion dream is to collect all the best fashion pieces to create the perfect wardrobe.

Fashion is like art: subjective, constantly changing and sometimes timeless.

His moment.

Some men don't even need to try.

Weekend!

+
Shoes!!
+
I really like the red jumpsuit the above woman is wearing; partly because of how bold the colour is but also because of the fit.

Dark looks.

Top: Karla's Closet, Vanessa Jackman. Bottom: 5 inch and up, Vanessa Jackman.

Wow, I'm in awe of these amazing dark looks: definitely inspiring!

Light looks.

++

The obvious theme in this post is looks in white which is the opposite to the safe bet and largely flattering colour of black. I think Caggie Dunlop, Rumi (aka Fashiontoast) and blogger 5 inch and up all pull of their predominately white looks perfectly, and I would say: dare to be different and wear white in autumn and winter.

Stay Hungry. Stay Foolish.

My look at the moment: the laid-back look.

How feminine are you?

+
She met two women with different styles: they both made her reflect on her own style.
+
There was one question that kept resurfacing: was her style too feminine or not feminine enough?

+

This song is utterly sublime.

Mood Board.

"The best revenge is not to be like your enemy." -Marcus Aurelius, Meditations.

+
Great songs: Frank Ocean - Thinking About You and Van She - Kelly (M83 remix).

I want!

+
It's by Zara!

There's no stopping us.

+
The top image is from Pull and Bear's October 2011 lookbook which you should check out! :)
+
The two bottom looks are taken from See by Chloe's Winter 2011-12 collection. The leather gloves, which I think would look great with the two looks, are by Carin Wester.
+
I'm loving this song at the moment: SBTRKT - Wildfire

It's not enough to want her.

+
Maybe it's because my life for the past few months has mainly consisted of dull colours but I like everything pictured above and I can't wait to have a glamorous, spontaneous fun night out: my life is just a bit too serious for my age! But, I guess it's all in preparation for landing the career job: the job that defines you, makes you or breaks you...

The nature of the game.

+
Diane Kruger, pictured in the top three images, has her own sense of style which makes her looks appear individualistic and yet I like how she always goes for practical looks. The streetstyle image on the bottom left and the look on the bottom right, which is by Whistles, are perfect chic a/w evening looks.
+
I learnt something interesting today which is worthy of sharing: thoughts sow actions; actions sow habits; habits sow character and character sows life.

Accessories.

+
I want new accessories but I've been really busy these past few months that I've just been food shopping.
+
I really like the yellow skirt paired with the polka dot blouse look!
+
I love this song at the moment: Story Board - The Album Leaf.

Lets start again, from scratch!

+
The woman in the top image on the left is called Lucy and her blog is quite cool: http://fashionmenow.blogspot.com/. By the way, click on the image to enlarge and read the text.
+
The bottom two looks were taken by Scott Schuman: I went through a phase of disliking checks but lately I've been drawn to them; it's probably because their not as trendy as they once were.

Inspired.

+
Coats and big scarfs are my winter must haves: I like Columbine Smille's (blogger pictured above) orange scarf it's daringly different and yet fashionable. I really like the street style imade adjacent to Smille: add the orange scarf or a royal blue scarf (if you're not feeling in a daring mood) and it's a perfect look for a mildly warm day.

Faux fur.

+
It's so cold! I'm already wearing layers of clothes and not out of choice.

Mood: Timeless.

+
Margaret Howell loafers: Michael Kors watches: Asos chain ring: Asos cowboy boots.
+
I've yet to feel hugely inspired by fashion to move out of my comfort zone this fall so my fashion mood is timless pieces as opposed to trendy pieces.

I crave you.

I like the red/white polka dot blazer with the white blouse and blue nails; and I'm in love with the gold sequined clutch.

They're summer looks that have made me think "wow".

I say your the bestest.

+
I've just seen the above shoes on blogger, Columbine Smille, and I had to share; they're from Stella McCartney's SS12 collection.

Made in Chelsea style.

+
Collette Dinnigan Resort 2012.
+
To me, the above looks reminded me of the style of some of the actresses on Made in Chelsea. Am I the only person who shamelessly watches Made in Chelsea, actually I have a friend who is also intrigued by the show, but we both agree it's because of the style and the guys. I really like Caggie's style particularly because she has a tom boyish charm to her.

It's October, right?

"The summer wind, came blowin' in - from across the sea
It lingered there, so warm and fair - to walk with me
All summer long, we sang a song - and strolled on golden sand
Two sweethearts, and the summer wind." -Frank Sinatra

(1) Unknown: (2) Hedi Silmane

Odd summer weather we're having in England but it would be very British of me to complain...

Working girl.

*
The two looks at the bottom are taken from Stella McCartney's Prefall collection. My reasoning for liking them is that they would be great formal work looks: I also like the clutch bag in the image on the left.

+

*
Rule 1: Keep it simple.

The woman's allure was her dress.

*
I can feel my fashion style and taste aging and I don't know how much of it to embrace. I've always been perceived as mature for my age which I've always felt, so my aging style taste wouldn't surprise those who know me and doesn't really surprise me; anyway my style taste is completely in love with this collection!

Runway inspiration: continued.

Karen Walker's collection was brilliant (floral for an A/W collection!) as was Mulberry.

I want the above jumper by Jil Sander.

I want it all.

Runway inspiration.

Jumpers and miniskirts is a look I can see becoming a trend; and I would like a pair of wool leggings to wear with a wool jumper and heels.

The pink blazer and 3/4 length leather trousers look is a look you either hate or love and I love it. I think knee-length boots can look great when worn well and when the boots are of a good quality; I see too many middle aged women in bad knee-length boots that I feel totally put off.

This post is to be continued...

Rosie Huntington-Whiteley

I'm not at all immensely infatuated with Rosie Huntington-Whiteley but I do like how she can dress in different looks and still exude beauty and elegance, which I guess isn't surprising when you consider her occupation.

Power wiling looks.

+
Donna Karen Fall 2011: Everything in this collection screams 'luxury'; from the delicate silks to the soft leather. I think any woman would feel elegant, luxurious and powerful wearing any of these looks to a formal event. Just like with flamboyant looks, these looks would also require someone with confidence to do absolute justice to them.
