If, like me, you're a big fan of Stella McCartney then you should know that the New York Times has written an interesting, in-depth article about her which you can read here.

I'm going to be happily single on Valentine's Day!
I'm not one of those women that jump into relationships for the sake of having a boyfriend. I think relationships are emotionally and mentally demanding and therefore never just blissful, so the person who you choose to devote your love and time to should be worthy of every bit of it.
If, like me, you're going to be single on Valentine's Day why not be happy about it rather than feel down. You could: do something that you've been wanting to do for quite a while; buy yourself new underwear that will make you feel like a million dollars/pounds; if you've been on a diet why not indulge in something chocolatey and sweet; buy yourself new nail varnish or make-up; go for a long session in the gym; watch your favourite film with your other single friends; buy yourself new jewellery; or just not care because it's just another (commercial) day in the year.
"My one terrible consolation is that my beloved has an undying, basically undeviating love for the institution of marriage itself. She has a primal urge to play house permanently. Her marital goals are so absurd and touching." -J.D.Salinger, Raise High The Roof Beam, Carpenters.
I really like the above images: it's the simple looks plus the messy hair.

"She is very clever, too clever for a woman. She lacks the indefinable charm of weakness." -Oscar Wilde, The Picture of Dorian Gray.
"We never keep to the present. We recall the past; we anticipate the future as if we found it too slow in coming and were trying to hurry it up, or we recall the past as if to stay its too rapid flight. We are so unwise that we wander about in times that do not belong to us, and do not think of the only one that does; so vain that we dream of times that are not and blindly flee the only one that is. The fact is that the present usually hurts. We thrust it out of sight because it distresses us, and if we find it enjoyable, we are sorry to see it slip away." -Blaise Pascal, Pensées.
"You want to live -but do you know how to live? You are scared of dying -and, tell me, is the kind of life you lead really any different from being dead?" -Seneca, Letters from a Stoic.
What have I been up to? I had my graduation; I then had to reluctantly give up my independence by moving out of my university halls to come back home. I've also been doing odd jobs for family friends; enjoying the unusual British weather and reading -hence the above quotes. I also felt like taking a break from blogging since it had become tedious and fashion itself had become the least important interest in my life.
...everything she did was inspiring, and everything she said was too articulately disturbing...
...after many swift encounters, I had to ask her how she had acquired such taste in fashion, books, art and music; and her answer was not traveling, nor was it being a social butterfly around other lost souls.

I just have three things to say:
1. The above quote (which you're suppose to conclude yourself) is from a Channel 4 drama called Any Human Heart. I watched the first episode recently having read an enticing review about it in The Sunday Times and it's really good; you can read about it and view it HERE.
2.Toby Jones is not just a brilliant photographer (first image on the left), he is also an amazing men's jeweler, and I would love to own a piece from his Lonely Hearts Club collection (you should also read the description of the collection at the bottom of the page).
3. I finished reading How Proust Can Change Your Life (I bought it because of the author and I've always been intrigued by Marcel Proust)and it was definitely worthing purchasing. It's made me want to attempt to read Proust's epic novel, In Search of Lost Time, which is seven volumes long! Proust is a very interesting and funny man, for instance, this is his view on friendship: "[friendship is in the end no more than] a lie which seeks to make us believe that we are not irremediably alone." This coming from a man who had countless friends in high places. :)
