The quintessential prep.

I bring to you the quintessential prep look courtesy of Sarah Vickers and her perfectly titled blog: Classy Girls Wear Pearls.

The "preppy" look can look really good (like the above images show) but it can also look over done or unoriginal; however, this can be said about the "indie" look; the "vintage" look; or the "in-trend" look. To maximise the potential of you always looking really good why not take all the really good looks from each clique?!

I have to admit, my fashion style changes with the seasons and the guys I like: I've recently been dressing a bit more preppy than usual because the guy I like is a quintessential prep (thankfully, not Ralph Lauren type); but he sort of changed his style when he liked me as he started adding dark colours to his wardrobe (it didn't really suit him).

The January blues.

I know there's too much skin in the above images particularly the looks for Theyskens' Theory's Pre-fall collection, but I reallly like them and I think they would still look great with tights (and a scarf).

Laterly, I've been drawn to casual smart looks -I'm bored with trying.

To all my blog followers: I'm not a hardcore fashion follower (I don't follow trends or worship designers); I just appreciate the positive influence fashion has on my life. I'm one of those intellectual bores that takes life too seriously but sees fashion as a form of escapism. I don't blog to garner lots of blog followers but as a source of collecting and combining images together that inspire me hence the brevity of my blog post comments (minus this post).

Happy New Year!

Blue Skys

I recently stumbled across blogger; The cherry blossom girl who appears to be at the top of the blogging sphere with over a hundred comments per entry, but it isn't surprising after viewing all the beautiful photography both fashion and others concerning her life on her blog. The images I've chosen, having something I want. I was surprised to find she owned a shop entitled The Urban Collection which are where some of her vintage clothing items are from. I'm off to dip my head back into books, that seem to have no end!

Tread This Fantasy

All the above images are from Adeline Rapon's blog, I've always liked her casual thrown together look. For future note, the first two images indicate how to wear a baggy top in style. Second image, which is of indicate glitter is cool and not just a messy annoying craft item. How amazing are those tights?! DIY painted Princess Peach converse, how cool?

One of my favourite bloggers! Her style seems effortless, casual yet always sophisticated, even when she's channeling the 70s hippie look. I also love her originality and the way in which she uses colours to her advantage. I think she is very inspirational, especially the way she manages to pull off wearing a poncho. The images speak for themselves. The fact we can delve into her closet and get an eye sight into the magic makes her image even more enviable in a good way, because I now have a lot of style ideas and looks to attempt. However, I can't but help think her slender figure helps her pull off her looks just a pinch more.

Today has been a long day, working is really not fun, especially when your working (job) in a hot environment. These images did however give me something to smile about, since they've ignited my creative side of the brain.
